![]() ![]() Wouldn't get my hopes up tbh.As a suggestion have you tried the other modes for how the OSD is displayed? The firmware route was a no go, and the infeasibility of getting a compatible blu-ray drive rendered that moot too (not to mention this does absolutely nothing for your digital stuff). ![]() Not to mention with this route your digital titles are not available to you, you're basically getting a compatible blu-ray drive to rip your PS3 game discs, your console doesn't actually come into the picture.Īll this info comes from the RPCS3 docs, I too have an aging PS3 I tried to salvage before it was too late. ![]() If you live in the US/EU I think getting these wouldn't be too big of a problem, but for the rest of us trying to buy one online is a huge gamble because we're buying something really expensive unseen, you're at the mercy of whoever's hocking these drives online AND the currency exchange rate - I'm not spending that much money on something this risky. The second option is also usually a big issue as it requires compatible blu-ray drives, not the bog standard ones. Unless you have an early PS3 I'd say this isn't usually a viable option. The first option is usually a non-starter since later models don't allow custom firmware. It gives you two routes: the preferred one is a custom firmware route where you get your console to dump (also lets you get at your digital stuff), the other option is to dump your game discs using a compatible blu-ray drive. Options are pretty limited, it's basically just RPCS3 as the others have mentioned.
